Ring 24 Case Studies

 

Case Study 1

The Brief

One of Ring 24 customers required a full telecommunications system for a new site with 30 users and an existing site with 90 users. The new site was approximately 200 metres away from the existing site in a direct line of sight. The customer wanted:
a) Business Communications Manager (BCM), Direct Dialling Inward (DDI), Calling Line Identification (CLI) and Voice Mail (VM)
and
b) Inbound calls to the company to answer at both site receptions simultaneously.

The Ring 24 Solution

To achieve both of these requests, Ring 24 installed a 1 Meg laser link to both sites, which created a powerful connection to carry 6 Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) channels and all data. In addition they provided two BCM 400's with laser link, which allowed FREE site-to-site calls and two fully operational and connected receptions.

The Result

The customer now has a fully converged two-site system that carries voice and data. It also offers complete connectivity to home workers and those staff who are not based at either of the two sites. The new system is fully comprehensive, easy to use, provides total flexibility and offers significant cost savings on all calls made.

In this case it was only 200 metres between the two sites, but the same systems solution could be applied to a company who has offices in London and New York and needs full inter-site connectivity.
 
     
 

Case Study 2

The Brief

Following office relocation, another of Ring 24 customers required the installation of new cabling and networking for the entire building, together with a new telephone system. The telephone system had to offer Internet Protocol telephony (IP), Direct Dialling Inward (DDI), Calling Line Identification (CLI), Voice Mail (VM) and be capable of operating a busy out of hours service.

The Ring 24 Solution

To achieve this, Ring 24 installed new high quality structured category 5e cabling, which allows for the update, expansion or movement of equipment whenever required and with minimal additional costs. In addition, they installed a fully networked Samsung OfficeServ System . that provided everything the customer needed from a telephone system including an efficient out of hours service.

The Result

The customer now has complete connectivity thanks to a powerful and extremely effective system that carries both voice and data. The new system is easy to use, provides total flexibility and offers significant cost savings on all calls made.
 
     
 

Case Study 3

The Brief

A customer approached Ring 24 requiring a new phone system to link an existing office with a new office on a separate site, some 400 yards away. The resulting system needed to be both cost effective and easy to use.

The Ring 24 Solution

Ring 24 offered two distinctly different options:

  1. The installation of a new telephone system at the new site with new BT ISDN30e lines.
  2. The installation of a new Nortel BCM 400 system on the existing site, and Wireless (WiFi) Point2Point Access Points and IP telephony at the new office.

Option 1 would mean ongoing line rentals of £1,500 per annum and employing a new receptionist at approximately £15,000 per annum.

Option 2 would mean that both sites were connected as one system, with the utilisation of existing BT lines and reception staff to handle calls and transfer callers over the WiFi link. In addition, staff at the new office would be able to have their own Direct Dial Inward (DDI) number enabling callers to bypass reception and go straight to their required destination.

The Result

Not surprisingly the customer choose Option 2 and now has a fully converged two-site system that is flexible, powerful, easy to use and offers significant cost savings on all calls made.

Furthermore, in addition to voice traffic, the customer's IT providers were able to use the WiFi link to connect all staff members to the same computer network, which saved the costs of purchasing new servers etc.
